First of all, thank you to Steve Himmer for the opportunity to serve as the November Writer-In-Residence for Necessary Fiction. The opportunity to share the work of writers I admire is greatly appreciated.

At times, I’ve described myself as a literary fangirl. I’m certain that could be taken in a number of unintended ways, but I’ve always meant it to describe my excitement for the work of established and up-and-coming writers. There are few things as lovely as falling in love with someone else’s words, and even fewer things I enjoy more than doing so.

Over the next month, I will revisit and reprint stories from writers whose words I’ve fallen in love with at some point. I will also be interviewing these writers about some of their literary loves, current or otherwise. I will reprint two of my own essays as well.
