Thanks to Steve and to all of you who have been reading this month at Necessary Fiction. I enjoyed the opportunity to share some of my work with you — and would have posted more this last week were it not for the unwelcome intervention of a car door on my right middle finger. I’m writing this with bandaged finger from a café in Providence, Rhode Island. Tonight I’ll be meeting up with collaborators Nick Montfort and Roderick Coover for the “Three Rails Live” event” at Brown tonight and then we’ll be taking Amtrak down to Philadelphia to repeat the experience at Kelly Writer’s House . That reading, tomorrow night at 6PM, will be streamed live on the internet — follow the link for details.

Nick and I will be reading from our sticker novel, Implementation . We currently have a book of the projects in the works, which will include all of the 240 narrative segments of the novel “implemented” — placed on objects in public spaces around the world. Many of the photographs we are using in the book can be found in an archive on flickr

Rod and I will also be showing Kastastrofitrilogien, a set of three short films set in Norwegian contexts and focused on the themes of how we experience, interpret, and forget disasters. You can find the first of the three films, The Last Volcano online. I’m excited about this event, as I have yet to see the third film, Norwegian Tsunami (Cigarette Break on an Oil Platform). We’ll also be testing out a new work in progress the three of us are collaborating on together, a project that will eventually result in a generative film.
