Good morning, readers. I hope the week has given you what you need. Here's what we've been up to at Necessary Fiction:
Our book review this week is Sally Rudolf writing about The Visitor by Maeve Brennan, discovered in Brennan's archive and recently reissued by Peninsula Press.
And our featured story is "Gloves" by Karina Dove Escobar, another writer new to our pages.
Elsewhere, I Have Not Considered Consequences by contributor Sherrie Flick, will be published very soon by Autumn House Press.
And The Silent Chord by contributor Matthew Kirkpatrick is also forthcoming, from Texas Review Press.
Éireann Lorsung will host a workshop this summer in Maine on "Re-seeing Everyday Life: Observational Practice," which seems like just the sort of deliberate and focused attention many of us might find restorative lately.
And our friends at Barrelhouse are taking registrations for both their April conference in Washington, DC (which I recommend highly) and their summer Writer Camp.
Until next time,
