Happy Saturday, everyone.
The early morning is cooler as I write this than it has been for a while so I guess we're really into the season of kids going back to school and dragging those of us who are teachers along with them. Here's what we published this week to see out the summer:
Vika Mujumdar reviewed What Kingdom by Fine Gråbøl and translated from the Danish by Martin Aitken for Archipelago Books. We're glad to have Vika write this third book review for us.
On Wednesday our summer flash fiction series came to an end with "The Cat in the Hall" by Emmy Ritchey, a writer appearing in our pages for the first time.
And we ended the week with Sue Mell sharing some research notes for her story collection A New Day, published by She Writes Press.
There are also a couple of new books by contributors to tell you about:
Friendly Fire: A Fractured Memoir by Paul Rousseau ("Stop/Motion", April 2023) will be published by Harper Horizon on September 10.
And Negative Girl by Libby Cudmore (The Big Rewind, February 2016) is also coming on September 10, from Datura Books.
If you're a past contributor with a book recently published or soon to be, and we haven't mentioned it, please feel free to get in touch and let me know — I try to keep an eye out but I'm sure I don't notice them all.
Until next week, thanks for reading, Steve Himmer
