Good morning, all. We've had a busy week at Necessary Fiction, and here's what we've been up to:
Sarah Holloway reviewed Sad Grownups, a collection by Amy Stuber from Stillhouse Press.
Then Joseph Thomas interviewed Miles Harvey about his debut collection The Registry of Forgotten Objects from Mad Creek Books.
Our featured story this week was "In The Skin Of A Fig" by Laila Amado.
And we ended the week with some research notes from Maggie Cooper about her chapbook The Theme Park of Women’s Bodies from Bull City Press.
I hope you'll enjoy reading those pieces, and will look for more to read by those writers.
Elsewhere, contributor Amber Sparks was the editor for Best Small Fictions 2024, newly published by Alternating Current Press. We're thrilled to see that the anthology includes two stories published in Necessary Fiction — “Already Among the Clouds” by Ibrahim Babátúndé Ibrahim and “Leap” by Sarah Fawn Montgomery — along with stories published elsewhere by a number of other writers we've published over the years.
Finally, contributor Steve Edwards will be teaching an online workshop this month on "Rediscovering Your Story: Memoir Writing" for Larksong Writers Place, and registration is now open.
Until next week, thanks for reading.
