Good morning, everyone. I hope your week has gone well. Here's what we've been up to at Necessary Fiction:
Emily Hall wrote about Helen Of Nowhere by Makenna Goodman, from Coffee House Press. Goodman's first novel, The Shame, is one of my favorites of recent years so I'm excited to stop in at the bookshop to pick up my order of this new one. And to bring you another review from Emily.
And our featured story this week was "Mall of America" by Terena Elizabeth Bell, who previously appeared in our pages with "A Good Leg Is Hard To Find."
Elsewhere, what a thrill it was to find out that a story we published, "In Event Of Moon Disaster" by Jenny Staff Johnson, has been adapted into a short film by Mark Johnson.
And at The Metropolitan Review contributor Tom McAllister wrote with gracious honesty about publishing with both small and large presses, and the realities (for many of us, anyway) of forging a continuous path of a writer.
Thanks for reading,
