Hi folks. Here's what's new at Necessary Fiction this week:

Geri Lipschultz returned to our pages, reviewing If You Think Your Heart Can Take It by Suzanne McConnell (Serving House Books).

Then our featured story this week, continuing our summer flash fiction series, was "Flowers" by Nicholas Bacci Siegel.

Elsewhere, contributor Caroline Clark recently published What Lies Ahead and other essays (Black Herald Press).

And I also want to recommend two recent story collections, both published by Cornerstone Press: This Is How We Speak by Rebecca Reynolds, and I Felt My Life With Both My Hands by Jessica Treadway. Earlier this week I heard the two of them read together and discuss the "blow to the solar plexus" a good story delivers (a description borrowed from contributor Elizabeth McCracken, whose recent craft book A Long Game: Notes On Writing Fiction I also recommend).
