Hi folks. A bit of a hectic one because it was the first week of a new semester for me, but here's what we've been up to this week:
We shared Lindsay Drager's review of Tidal Lock by Lindsay Hill (McPherson & Co.), which was Lindsay's first time writing for us and we're honored to share her work.
And this week's featured fiction was an excerpt from The Morgue Keeper by Ruyan Meng, selected by guest editor Nicholas Claro.
Submissions remain open for our annual flash fiction summer series, until February 15.
I know of a few upcoming books and projects and will mention those as they approach, but if you're a past contributor with a new book coming up or a writing (or writing-adjacent!) project to share, please reply to let me know.
I also want to mention a couple of upcoming classes that may be of interest. Our friend Jaime Green will teach her online workshop Scrivener for Creative Writers on January 31, so if you're curious about but intimidated by that tool this is a good chance to learn more. And novelist Emily Adrian will teach a spring course on Reading Muriel Spark with Great Place Books.
Thanks for reading,
