Hi folks. Here's what we've been up to this week:
Abigail DeWitt reviewed A Stranger Came To Town by Lynne Sharon Schwartz, published by Eastover Press. We're glad to publish Abigail's writing for the first time.
And this week's story, chosen by guest editor Nicholas Claro, was "Vixen" by Madeline Anthes, another new writer in our pages. You'll find more of Madeline's work at her website.
Thanks for the response to our call for solstice submission. We received quite a few and I look forward to reading them and making selections to be published next month.
Finally, thanks to contributor David Rose for responding to my question about book recommendations (please note that link isn't currently showing everything David has published with us — there's a database issue I will fix ASAP). He writes,
Re. your Recommended Reading list - I am currently rereading Edmond Caldwell's Human Wishes/Enemy Combatant, first published by the now-defunct Say It With Stones but reissued by Grand Iota. I reviewed the first edition, several times, have written about its republication recently in NY-based magazine Exacting Clam, but rereading it now I realize I had forgotten quite how funny it is, especially for an anti-novel - quite brilliant.
What other books are you recommending as the year ends? Let me know I will try to include them in this newsletter.
Thanks for reading,
