A story, a review, and some contributor news
Necessary Fiction
Doing our best since 2009

Another week, another update on what we've been publishing lately.

On Monday, we shared Rebecca Biagas' review of Blood Feast by Malika Moustadraf, translated from Arabic by Alice Guthrie. This review is Rebecca's first publication (of many, we hope!), which makes us especially honored to bring it to our readers and to know that Rebecca shared it with us.

And on Wednesday our featured fiction for the week was "Earthrise" by Yasmeen Amro, with this excellent opening line:

"The Earth dipped beneath the crater and it was all so beautiful that we thought for a moment we were going to be okay."

Elsewhere, I saw that contributor Avra Margariti (whose story "Sink" we published in August) was included on the British Science Fiction Awards longlist for "Advice for Aspiring Cartographers."

Thanks for reading,

Steve Himmer
